Providing Strategic Support and Technical Guidance to EV Startup

Project Overview

A Detroit-based company, founded in 2020, operates a marketplace for the electrification of various products, simplifying the purchase, installation, and servicing of items like EV chargers, solar panels, battery storage systems, and heat pumps for residential and commercial customers. After spending two years building an application in Bubble, the company discovered that the platform was inadequate to handle their needs just weeks before launch. On the eve of launch and the closing of a major deal with a large client, the client requested SOC II certification and a plan to accommodate multiple user roles. To secure the deal and strategize a move away from the Bubble platform, the company’s Fractional CMO referred them to Keiboarder.

Before

  • The existing application was clunky and unable to handle the complex workflows of multiple user types.
  • A major customer was hesitant to proceed without the necessary compliance documentation.

Project Execution

Results

  • The company had clear requirements for replicating current functionality with the addition of user types for future development.
  • The company documented their initial SOC II efforts with the existing Bubble application, which temporarily satisfied the client and allowed the engagement to continue.

Business Outcomes

Keiboarder's work delivered key business outcomes:

  • Deal Preservation: Keiboarder's swift action helped the company meet a key client's requirements, ensuring the deal's continuation.
  • Strategic Planning: Keiboarder facilitated the development of clear requirements for future application development, setting the stage for scalability.
  • Compliance Support: Keiboarder's Fractional CTO directly assisted with the SOC II documentation process, demonstrating good faith to the client.
